  Dear AMS South Mountain scholars and parents,<br><br>I am so excited to welcome you to our Mandarin class this year! <br><br>My name is Ms. Zhang or Zhāng lǎoshī. I was born and raised in mainland China, and Mandarin is my native language. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Chinese Language and Literature in 2013 and am working on my PhD at Arizona State University. With 5 years of experience teaching Mandarin at ASU, I am looking forward to sharing my language and culture with you!<br><br>China is the most populous nation in the world, and along side English, Mandarin is the most spoken language in the world. By learning the language, you are able to not only learn the eastern traditional thoughts but also embrace more opportunities in the future.<br><br>So, what are you waiting for?
