Science Olympiad is a team competition in which students compete in 'events' pertaining to various scientific disciplines and engineering. There are three levels of competition: regional, state, and national. Science Olympiad tournaments always occur on Saturdays and have approximately 23 events covering all the scientific disciplines. Individual and team medals and trophies are presented at all levels of competition. AMS 6th-8th graders (max of 25 students) can participate in Science Olympiad and competition teams are selected from club members (max of 15 students per team competition).
